BELLY DANCING

"To dance is to be out of yourself, larger, more powerful, more beautiful. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking"

When anybody talks about BELLY DANCING the first question which pops up is how and why originated belly dancing.......well the answer to this is NOBODY KNOWS HOW AND WHY BELLY DANCING STARTED.It is said that belly dancing was commonly practiced in Pre-Aryan India and ancient Egypt.
belly dancing was considered totally feminist show and also in early year this dance was only performed by women for women only.belly dancing was considered as ritual for celebrating fertility, birthing also during some celebratory occasion.a girls first performance for other women was considered as route to womenhood.

BELLY DANCING COSTUME
Costume of belly dancing differ for nation to nation and also the dancer.Generally dancer wear two piece costume leaving arms, belly, and parts of leg.leg part is usually harem or even long skirt.

The dancer mainly wear heavy junk jeweler around their waist and breast area. These jewler are worn there to give it an extra swing and to make the moves visible specially in the waist area.the junks mainly have bangles or coins attach in the scarf in triangular or rectangular way.

BELLY DANCING IN INDIA

In India belly dancing is not so popular because there is a thought process of each and every individual thinking of it being very ugly seductive and specially the costume.Belly dancing is considered small and virtually unknown compared to other countries.this dance barely peeped out of the shadow of the increasingly popular Bollywood dance.
But slowly this thought process is changing........now more and more of girls want to do belly dancing in India, parents too are not hesitating at all to send their child for belly dancing classes.the belly dancers are very proud of saying that they have learnt belly dancing.all these could have been possible only because of awareness made by the dance reality shows like JUST DANCE where MEHER MALIK one of the contestant got into the dance show by belly dancing. By that one performance am very sure that it grabbed eyes of thousand people who then wanted to learn belly dancing. She also open an academic called BANJARA SCHOOL OF DANCE in DELHI .Also the very brave belly dancer who came down to open classes for belly dancing knowing the fact it wont earn them much profit especially in India.Well not forget to mention KATRINA KAIF......her one video of "SHEILA KI JAWANI" popularized belly dancing in a span of a day or two. Everybody wanted to learn belly dancing after that. Now each and every actress is wanting to do belly dancing in films or item songs which is helping belly dancing to popularize in India and hope many other girls and guys would like to learn it.

DANCE : EXPRESS YOURSELF.....!

D-divine
A-abstract
N-natural
C-culture
E-elegance

These five words talk a lot about dance, but not everything. It only gets better when you “step” into it. You move! You shake! You tap! You clap! You jump! You jive! All of these connect one to dance. So next time you do any of these, you know you are DANCING. For me it all began in the third grade. Being asked to dance in a school programme which was so called “THE STEPPING STONE” for me in favor of dance and changed my life forever.

All we need is the blend of Talent, Passion and Hard work to master any of the dance forms. It rejuvenates our life and pour in all the divine energy in us. This art has been known since ages and it works to express oneself with sobriety. Melancholic beauty of dance form is shown with a lot of elegance especially in cultural form of dance.
Many say it's a way of expressing ourselves. For me, it is an expression in itself. There have been moments in my life which brought me closer to this idea. So until the curtain rises again...and that would be all you learn about me!!
